The Health Promotion Institute (HPI) provides comprehensive coach training and certification to health and allied health professionals.

Our proven coaching methodology incorporates the latest evidence-based adult learning and behavior change theories with practical skills and applications. HPI-certified coaches master the skills necessary to positively impact behavior change in a variety of settings.  Developed and delivered by experienced health coaching experts, HPI training modules provide a strong foundation in health coaching skills as well as advanced certification in specialty areas.

Our Health Promotion Institute Coaching curriculum aligns with the World Health Organization’s core competencies, and all HPI training modules receive Level 1 continuing education units (CEU) from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC).


HPI Certified Health Coaches



Health Impact is a comprehensive Health Coach Certification course that teaches the practical application of theory-based health intervention techniques.  Health professionals who complete this course master the communication skills and techniques required to effectively use evidence-based behavior change methodologies and adult learning theory to positively impact behavior change.

HealthPoint 360° teaches the core concepts of conducting brief interventions, focusing on the communication skills and techniques required to successfully engage individuals to adopt healthy lifestyle habits. A brief intervention is an attempt to modify behavior during routine or intermittent contact.  By performing brief interventions, the health professional or educator can effectively reach and engage their clients within the window of three to seven minutes.  Appropriate for health coaches who have completed previous comprehensive coach training or health professionals who have the opportunity for brief interventions.
